What is the Answer Box?

The Answer Box is a section at the top of the page containing a snippet that attempts to answer the searched question. The point of this SERP feature is to answer the searched question without having to click on a result. 

Where does the information in the Answer Box come from?

The information in the Answer Box comes from the organic result that Google deems best answers the question. Google will site this website at the bottom of the answer box (see image).
